Mindset Around Perceived Failures
Move forward, reflect and learn from both major and minor setbacks, as opposed to focusing on them as failures. We do not believe in failures. We either succeed or we learn. In keeping this mindset, and seeing things this way, we reduce the feelings of guilt and other negative emotions that may prolong or increase the intensity of setbacks preventing us from ever reaching our goals. Instead, this mindset allows us to consistently get back on track without hesitation, low motivation or a sense of failure.
As time progresses and this mindset is reinforced, setbacks tend to become seemingly less likely to occur – because they’re no longer seen or felt as failures, they’re seen and experienced as obstacles and opportunities. Obstacles, they are great learning opportunities and grow from overcoming them.
We practice forgiveness and compassion and we encourage others to do the same. Together we can then focus on getting back in line with our commitments as soon, as the very next meal or workout.
I aim to create a safe, judgment-free environment where people are free to explore their nutrition and emotional responses to food. People will make mistakes, and I am there to support them in reflecting on and learning from those mistakes without judging them.
